Please understand that we feel compelled to be good stewards in all areas of this ministry. Legally, we must only disperse items which meet federal safety guidelines. It becomes an expense for us to dispose of items which may not be useable, so please take a moment and consider the following:
- Would you use the item yourself? The article must be in good, useable condition. It should be something you would allow your own children to wear or use.
- Is it clean and ready to use? There should be no rips or tears in clothing or on furnishings. Buttons, snaps and zippers should not be missing or broken. If there are stains on the items that you cannot remove, the item should be discarded.
- Has the item reached its expiration date? Expiration dates, especially on food and formula, should be carefully checked. We are not able to distribute food or formula which has expired or is ready to expire.
- Is the item in good working order? All of the parts must be present, including wheels, springs and fabric. No foam rubber should be exposed on any item. Carseats must meet federal safety standards. Slats on crib siderails must be no wider apart than 2-3/8" for safety purposes.
- Does the item need to be repaired? If an item needs repair, this should be done before the item is donated to PSC. We do not have the resources to perform repairs or mending on donated items.
We appreciate your desire to be a part of this ministry through the quality and generosity of your gifts. We sincerely thank you on behalf of all the women and babies who are blessed in receiving them!
