Peer Counseling or Advocacy? Which one is right for me?
 
Peer Counseling:
    • Short-term support by a trained volunteer who offers help and support throughout your pregnancy 
    • Provides education and options counseling
    • Educates clients on all the services and programs PSC offersConnects clients with helpful community referralsHelps clients work through the crisis phases of an unplanned pregnancy Assesses material needs
    • Assesses clients for Advocacy Program
       
       

      Advocacy:

    • Long-term support by a trained volunteer who offers help and support throughout your pregnancy. 
    • Assists clients in problem-solving, setting goals, and connecting her with helpful community resources Assists clients in preparing for baby's birth and helps to establish a parenting plan for baby's futureConnects clients with PSC services and programs
    • Offers friendship and caring throughout pregnancy
